AJ Wilson’s Game-Saving Block Lands on SportsCenter Top 10

With a bad loss to one-win Saint Joseph’s almost certain, George Mason senior A.J. Wilson raced down court to bail his team out with a game-saving block on Wednesday night. The block came with 7.5 seconds remaining in overtime and allowed the Patriots to force a second overtime, where they eventually prevailed 87-85. It was a great play and exactly the kind that’s endeared Wilson to Mason fans. His motor never stops, and if EagleBank Arena was allowed to be packed the chasedown block would have sent the place into a frenzy.

While there wasn’t a crowd there to appreciate the moment, it was honored on Wednesday night’s SportsCenter during their Top 10 segment.

Wilson’s block came in at No. 7 on the SC Top 10. He finished the contest with a season-high six blocks.

Javon Greene, the newest member of Mason’s 1000-point club, led the Patriots with 25 points. Jordan Miller added 17, while Wilson and Josh Oduro each chipped in 14.
