“I’m heartbroken for Matt,” Dukes head coach Mark Byington said in the press release. “He had a special year and was a huge part of our success. I’m encouraged knowing that this is a minor injury and he will go on to a great professional career without any limitations.”
Lewis, the CAA scoring king this season with 19.7 points per game, is expected to be fully recovered in eight weeks, per the school.
James Madison will host the CAA Tournament this year after it was moved from Washington, D.C. The event will kick off on Saturday, March 6th and run until Tuesday, March 9th. The Dukes, the top seed, will get a first-round bye. The first two rounds will be broadcast on FloHoops, followed by the semifinals and championship game on CBS Sports Network.
