Justin McKoy & Casey Morsell Find New Homes at Rival ACC Schools
Justin McKoy and Casey Morsell, two rotation pieces for UVA the last two years, have found new homes after entering the transfer portal. Both players are taking advantage of the latest rule changes and transferring within the conference.
McKoy became new North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis‘ first recruit, announcing the news via social media. The 6-foot-8 North Carolina native started the first four games of the ’20-21 season for Virginia and finished the season averaging 11.3 minutes per game.

Morsell won’t be too far from McKoy. The rising junior will be playing this coming season at NC State, confirming so on his Twitter account. The former Top 100 recruit played 18.8 minutes per game in two years, though he never got his shot to fall consistently. He only made 20.3 percent of his three-point attempts as a Cavalier (25-of-123).

Both players will be missed by Wahoo Nation, especially since they likely would have been major contributors over the next two seasons. Fans were holding out hope Morsell could reach his full potential, while McKoy was beloved for his energy and toughness. It’s understandable why they wanted a fresh start, though, and at least it will be easy to keep tabs on them moving forward.
