Kyle Guy & Other Wahoos Turn Heads at Vegas NBA Summer League
Kyle Guy looked like a polished veteran during Monday night’s summer league game between Orlando and Golden State. Playing for the Warriors, Guy scored 15 points in less than 20 minutes, while also dishing out three assists and registering two steals. Guy had played so well in the first half that he was chosen for an interview by NBATV on his way off the court.
Golden State lost to Orlando 91-89 in overtime. (Full box score here).
Plenty of other Wahoos also turned heads on Monday night, including Pelicans first-rounder Trey Murphy III. The 17th overall pick dropped 26 points in his summer league debut, while also adding nine boards. Murphy went 6-of-9 from beyond the arc but his biggest highlight came by way of a posterizing two-handed dunk. (Full box score here)

Braxton Key won a title with Virginia but he hasn’t reached the NBA yet. Last year, he spent some time in the G-League and is fighting for a roster spot in Philadelphia this summer. He had an efficient 11 points in his summer league debut, converting 5-of-8 field goals (inc. 1-of-1 from deep). The 76ers beat Dallas by a 95-73 final score. (Full box score here)
Key’s teammate during his entire time in Charlottesville, Mamadi Diakite, also had a double-digit performance in his 2021 Las Vegas NBA Summer League debut. Diakite, fresh off an NBA title last year, started and put up 13 points for the victorious Bucks. (Full box score here)

London Perrantes also saw time for the Wolves in Minnesota’s 91-89 win over San Antonio. He played a steady point guard off the bench, finishing with two points and three assists in 21 minutes. Perrantes, who has 14 NBA games under his belt, was the only Wolves reserve to have a positive plus/minues (+2). (Full box score here)
