Miami at Virginia Preview: Hoos Need to Bust Slump on Senior Night
After four days off, the Wahoos will be back in action on Monday night in what will be their home finale and annual senior night. Though it’s murky for Virginia (and just about every other team) what “senior night” actually means this year, multiple players and managers will be honored before tip-off. Virginia, coming off three consecutive losses, will host Miami, a sneaky dangerous team that’s 3-14 in ACC play, yet has wins over two of the teams that just beat Virginia — Duke & NC State — as well as projected tournament teams Purdue and Louisville. The game will also bring Miami head coach Jim Larranaga back to Virginia where he coached under Terry Holland from 1979-86.
