WATCH: Lucas Giolito Tosses First No-Hitter of 2020
Lucas Giolito blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0 on Tuesday night, earning his first no-hitter and the first of the shortened 2020 MLB season. An all-star last season for the White Sox, Giolito struck out 13 Pirates and just missed a perfect game; he walked one batter on four pitches in the fourth inning.
Though it’s not apples to apples, Giolito’s no-no featured the smallest crowd ever to witness such a feat at the MLB level. You can watch the complete final inning below.
The White Sox improved their record to 18-12 on the year, 1.5 games back of first place in the AL Central.
Offensively, Luis Robert, who’s setting the baseball card market on fire, led the way with three hits.
