WATCH: O’s Chris Davis Hits First Home Run in 51 Days
Back on May 12th, Chris Davis hit his fifth home run of 2019 in a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. At that point, things were looking up for the slugger; he ended May 12th hitting .189 and it seemed like he could legitimately get over .200 any day. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen as Davis was sidelined by injury two weeks later and he never really regained his stroke.
But tonight, 51 days after his last jack, Davis finally hit his sixth homer of the season, doing so against Rays starter Charlie Morton. Though it wasn’t a typical Chris Davis bomb, you know, a lofty flyball into the right-field bleachers, I’m happy he was able to get one out of the yard. Maybe it will build some confidence in him.

Baltimore currently trails Tampa Bay 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh. Davis’ homer has accounted for their only run.
Between homers, Davis was 12-for-86 (.139 BA) with just one RBI.
