Detroit’s own Royce Da 5’9″ surprised Michigan voters with an impromptu performance on Tuesday. Check out a short clip of Nickel doing his thing at the polls below! The song is “Boom

The track he’s performing here is “Boom” off his The Rock City Mixtape.

“Royce is always out doing great things for others,” one Twitter user wrote. “Man what a fucking dope example to set,” said another. “Kudos x 10000000.”

Royce has released eight studio albums, including 2020’s The Allegory which reached #58 on the Billboard Top 200. In 2010, he was nominated for a Grammy for his work on Eminem’s Recovery album.

Many sharp-eyed Twitter users pointed out that Royce’s kicks, which I’m not totally familiar with but it was one of the most popular comments.
