WATCH: Tatis Jr. Launches HR on Western Metal Supply Co. Roof
We’ve been tracking all of Fernando Tatis Jr.‘s homers this year, a job that’s every bit as fun as it sounds. His homers come in all shapes and sizes, and each is special in its own way. Thursday’s dinger may have been the best yet, though, as hard as that is to believe. Tatis Jr.’s 13th homer (which gave him the sole spot atop the HR leaderboard) was a moonshot that landed ON TOP of the Western Metal Supply Co. building beyond the left-field wall. It’s one of the best features at any ballpark in the bigs, so anytime it comes into play it’s special. That said, only one other player has ever hit a dinger on top of the brick building — his teammate, Hunter Renfroe, has done it twice.

The shot went 448 feet.
The Padres played a doubleheader on Thursday, splitting against the Mariners. And while Tatis’ shot was ungodly, Manny Machado deserves some roses for hitting three dingers in the doubleheader. Wil Myers also hit a walk-off jack in Game 1. They are the most exciting team to watch right now, no doubt.
