Yale Dancing After Ivy League Cancels Tournament

The Yale Bulldogs are going dancing for the second consecutive year. On Tuesday, the Ivy League announced they would be canceling their conference tournament amid concerns for the health of their students.

“We understand and share the disappointment with student-athletes, coaches and fans who will not be able to participate in these tournaments. Regrettably, the information and recommendations presented to us from public health authorities and medical professionals have convinced us that this is the most prudent decision.”

Yale was awarded the bid based on their regular-season record. The Bulldogs finished with an 11-3 conference record, edging out Harvard, who finished 10-4 but beat Yale in both of their meetings. Yale is the only Ivy League team ranked in the KenPom Top 100, currently sitting at No. 57. Against high-major programs, Yale went 1-3, beating Clemson and losing to Penn State, Oklahoma State, and North Carolina.

Per the press release, the league is also restricting spectators at other conference events and canceling out-of-season practices and competitions.
