Cole Beasley: “Can’t Wait to Get Started in Buffalo”

Throughout his high school, college and professional football career, wide receiver Cole Beasley has only played his home games in the Dallas area.

Between his high school days at Little Elm HS in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, his four-year collegiate career at Dallas’ most famous university, Southern Methodist, and seven years with the Cowboys, Beasley has become a fan-favorite among locals; playing nearly 15 years in the same town will spawn that type of support.

His next chapter, however, is going to be elsewhere. According to reports, the slot receiver signed a four-year, $29 million deal with the Buffalo Bills.

Per Buffalo Rumblings, about half of the deal is guaranteed ($14.4 million).

The move makes sense for both sides; Beasley saw his targets dwindle when Dallas brought in Amari Cooper midway through the 2018 season and Buffalo needs proven playmakers to help their franchise quarterback, Josh Allen.

Not known for his accuracy, a guy like Beasley will help Allen a ton with underneath routes and short throws.

Beasley confirmed everything on Twitter today, saying he “can’t wait to get started in Buffalo.”

In his career at SMU, the 5-foot-10 receiver has two seasons with 80-plus catches and 1000-plus yards. Then with Dallas’ pro team, Beasley hauled in 319 catches for 3,271 yards and 23 touchdowns across seven seasons.
