COLLAR x ELBOW Launches Shirt Campaign to Benefit Shad Gaspard’s Family

COLLAR x ELBOW, a t-shirt brand launched by longtime WWE wrestler Al Snow, released a Shad Gaspard shirt following the former wrestler’s tragic passing. All proceeds from the shirt, the website states, will “go directly to Shad’s family.”

The shirt is modeled after a “Brooklyn’s Own” Mike Tyson t-shirt Gaspard once wore in a photo. Gaspard, who competed for multiple years in WWE and had several TV and film roles, was also from Brooklyn.

The website also offers a donation option if you don’t want to purchase a shirt.

On Sunday, May 17th, Gaspard went missing after getting caught in a riptide at the Marina Del Rey beach in California. Authorities searched a 70-square mile area for 16.5 hours before suspending the search. His body was identified on Wednesday, May 20th after washing up on the beach.

According to Yahoo Sports, he was 50 meters from shore when he was last spotted by lifeguards. Other swimmers, including Gaspard’s son (age 10) were also in danger, but the former wrestler “reportedly told lifesavers to help his son first.”

Gaspard, also known as “Da Beast,” was 39 years old.
