Fantasy Football: 5 Waiver Claims Who Could Win You Week 12

Jonathan Williams, RB (Colts)

Fact: Indy’s starting running back Marlon Mack is out indefinitely. Fact: 139 of Nyheim Hines’ 200 snaps have been pass plays. The Colts have an opening for a running back to pick up first down, second down and goalline carries and Williams did just that last week en route to a 16-touch, 148-yard day. Temper expectations moderately only because second-year Jordan Wilkins is still a candidate for carries.

Noah Fant, TE (Broncos)

IT’S HAPPENING! (Michael Scott voice). Rookie tight ends almost never become offensive staples in their first year, but Fant is very, very close. Last week he caught four passes for sixty yards but notched career-highs in both snaps (68) and targets (11). I would not be surprised if Noah Fant is drafted as a top-five tight end next year.

Josh Reynolds, WR (Rams)

Reynolds has 19 targets in his last three games and if Rams’ receivers Robert Woods or Brandin Cooks continue missing time, Reynolds is a candidate to build on that target share. Last year, in the four games he was targeted over five times he only failed to catch 70 yards or a touchdown once.

Trey Edmunds, RB (Steelers)

Lead back James Conner is reportedly “up in the air” for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. While one might think Conner and Benny Snell’s absences would lead to the Jaylen Samuels show, Edmunds actually out-snapped Samuels 33-25 last week. He’s a solid option if you need a running back in Week 12 but don’t have the waiver rank to snag Jonathan Williams.

Qadree Ollison, RB (Falcons)

Atlanta invested a fifth-round pick in Ollison this year, and his body type and running style scream goalline carries. Last week he got into the end zone on his first carry.

If Freeman can’t get on the field soon, Ollison could see more work on a team looking to develop their young talent. His four-carry, eleven-yard Sunday doesn’t warrant a top waiver selection, he’s more of a deep-league flier.
