Who Knew? The Jacksonville Jaguars Have a Solid Lineup of Celebrity Fans

If you look up anything regarding the Jaguars and their celebrity fans, you’ll come across two big names: Bill Murray and Gene Hackman.

This is all fugazi.

Hackman just hung around the Jags because he was boys with Jack Del Rio, and Bill Murray is a Chicago guy all the way. I want legit celebrity fans, the kind that’s currently engulfed in the team’s success. Jacksonville tweets or hashtags are a surefire qualifier.

As I found out…they’re out there.

Here is a list of the real celebrity Jacksonville Jaguars fans.

Grayson Allen

Yup! Duke senior basketball player Grayson Allen rides for the Jags.

Born in Jacksonville, Allen stayed local and won a state title at Providence Prep School on Jacksonville’s Southside. He recently threw up the Duval-Til-We-Die hashtag after Jacksonville beat the Steelers.

Brett Myers

Former MLB pitcher Brett Myers is also among the bunch. He was born and raised in Jacksonville and has tweeted several times in support of his hometown team.

Myers, currently an aspiring country musician, won a World Series with the Phillies in 2008 which should make a potential Jaguars/Eagles Super Bowl quite interesting.

Lil Duval

Lil Duval, who gets his name from Duval County (where Jacksonville is located), is one of the biggest Jags’ junkies around. He’s been tweeting a ton about the team and has several pictures of himself at EverBank Field in Jacksonville.

Duval (real name Roland Powell) is a stand-up comedian who has a ton of credits to his name. Most recently, he appeared alongside Mike Epps, George Lopez, and Mike Tyson in the film Meet The Blacks.

Patrick Heusinger

Heusinger is a 36-year-old actor from, you guessed it, Jacksonville, Florida. He is currently starring in Absentia, a television show which just wrapped up its first season on Amazon. He’s also had mid-level roles in two critically-acclaimed films, Black Swan (2010), and Frances Ha (2012).

Besides cashing checks for his acting roles, Heusinger is one of the few verified Twitter accounts to rep the team in his bio. It reads, “diehard #Jaguars fan”.

Derek Trucks

Last but not least, Derek Trucks—a Grammy-award winning musician—is one of the biggest and most notable Jacksonville die-hard. He was recently honored by the team with a custom jersey, presented by Shahid Khan himself.

Even before they were in the AFC Championship Game, Trucks was on board. Check out this video from 2015 of him talking about his NFL fandom.

Jacksonville will play the New England Patriots on Sunday, January 21st, for the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. CBS will broadcast the game at 3:05 P.M ET. The Jaguars are currently eight-point underdogs.
