Jared Sullinger: “Kyle Lowry the Greatest Raptor EVER”

On the heels of his gutsy Game 6 performance, former Raptor Jared Sullinger called Kyle Lowry “the greatest Raptor EVER.” Lowry put up 33 points, eight boards and six steals in Toronto’s 125-122 double-overtime victory over Boston, forcing a Game 7 between the Eastern Conference rivals.

Sullinger played with Lowry and the Raptors during the 2016-17 season. It was his last NBA season to date.

The claim has a lot of truth to it and I’m sure a lot of Raptors’ fans would agree. It can’t be Kawhi Leonard because he was only there for a year, and Vince Carter never brought them to the promised land. You could argue Hakeem Olajuwon but that’s about it (LOL).

Lowry was the second-best player on Toronto’s championship team in 2019 and he’s been there a long time now. Eight of his 14 NBA seasons have been up North and all six of his all-star appearances have been with the Raps (each of the last six seasons; 2014-20). Vince was only in Toronto for six and a half years and the end of his run got ugly. He gets the honor of changing basketball in Canada for the better but not the title of Greatest Raptor Ever. That, I’d have to agree, goes to Mike Lowrey Kyle Lowry.
