Lupe Fiasco Tabs KOTA The Friend For Several Dates on Summer Tour

It’s always nice to be early on an artist. Whether it be a band, rapper, film director, or whatever, there’s a certain pride when you’re on board with someone from the beginning and then, all of the sudden, they blow up. Right now, that’s how I feel about KOTA The Friend; he’s a supremely talented hip-hop artist with a certain style that’s all his own. By no means is he unknown or anything — he has a 55.5k followers on Instagram — but, to me, he has potential to be something much, much bigger.

So when KOTA announced on IG that he’d been tabbed by one of his idols, Lupe Fiasco, for several tour dates this summer, it was pleasing to see that he was taking another step towards a brighter spotlight.

Per the post, KTF was “on the verge of tears” after Lupe agreed to bring him on for a set of four tour dates this summer. I’m sure more could be added but the ones he listed are Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Los Angeles.

The San Antonio show is at Paper Tiger on August 17th, with tickets available on June 29th.

Besides his shows with Lupe, KOTA The Friend has a series of his own headlining shows this summer.

All of KTF’s projects are worth checking out but if you’re looking for something hot off the presses, he just released “Alkaline” within the last few days and it’s a GEM. Check it out below, guarantee you knock it a few times.

If you don’t have Spotify or Tidal, you can get the majority of his catalog on SoundCloud.
