FS1 Filling Hole in Afternoon TV Schedule By Separating Colin Cowherd, Kristine Leahy

First, it was Colin Cowherd coming aboard the Fox Sports ship. Then, Skip Bayless hopped on. Among others, Jason Whitlock, Doug Gottlieb, and Mark Schlereth soon followed suit, and Nick Wright — a relative unknown — emerged as a star in the making. What resulted was a solid lineup of weekday sports programming: First Things First to start the day (6-9 AM), Undisputed up next (9 AM – 12 PM), followed by The Herd with Colin Cowherd (12-3 PM), Speak For Yourself (5-6 PM), and NASCAR Race Hub (6-7 PM).

And while, at least to me, it’s better than what ESPN offers, there is a gaping hole from 3 PM until 5 PM.

Not anymore, though.

On The Herd with Colin Cowherd today, Colin announced that his co-host — the lovely Kristine Leahy — would be leaving the show to embark on a new journey: her own show that will air sometime this fall between 3-5 PM on FS1.

Two and a half years ago, Colin came to FS1, and took a huge risk adding my role, and me, to the show. In that time, I’ve had the rare opportunity to just “be me” on TV and that’s the ultimate goal, isn’t it? This never felt like work. It felt like I was going to hang out with my friends, discuss sports, argue with Colin about LeBron and Russ, and sprinkle in some personal anecdotes. I am so grateful for Colin and our staff behind the scenes… we even got nominated for an Emmy! So it is bittersweet to announce that I am leaving The Herd to host my own show starting this Fall on FS1. I am so excited to share details in the coming weeks, and I hope you’ll watch ❤

Per The Big Lead, the show will not fill the full two hours but run for 30 minutes instead.

Leahy’s final day with Cowherd will be this week, with her new show set to launch after a summer of preparation.
