Maryland Football: Terps Miss Out on Jalen Hurts

Over the last few weeks, the Jalen Hurts-to-Maryland train was really picking up steam. Hurts, the former starting quarterback at Alabama, was visiting potential transfer destinations over the last few weeks and Maryland seemed realistic. After all, the Maryland football program recently hired Hurts’ old offensive coordinator, Michael Locksley, away from ‘Bama, and Hurts was seen in the front row of a Maryland basketball game alongside his former coach.

Unfortunately, the dream is over; Hurts will be heading to Oklahoma as a grad transfer to become the next star quarterback of the Sooners.

In a self-penned story on The Players’ Tribune, Hurts borrowed LeBron’s famous quote from “The Decision” to make his announcement: “I’ve decided to take my talents to the University of Oklahoma,” Hurts wrote.

As for the Maryland football program, it looks like Tyrell Pigrome is the odds-on favorite to start next season at quarterback.
