On This Day Last Year the Nats Hit 4 Homers in a Row

Howie Kendrick, who would go on to be a hero for the Nats in the 2019 World Series, got the ball rolling with the first homer, followed by Trea Turner, Adam Eaton, and finally, Anthony Rendon. Altogether, the four homers came within a span of seven pitches. What’s even crazier, the Nats also did this in 2017, though no slugger overlapped into last year’s slugfest.

“I think we were pretty fired up when Howie hit his just because that gave us the lead, and runs were hard to come by today. We were excited for that one, but to do it three more times after that was pretty cool.” – Trea Turner via ESPN News Service

The Nats would go on to win the game 5-2, with Stephen Strasburg picking up the win. Stammen, of course, got tagged with the L.
