Redskins: AP on Pace For First 1,000-Yard Season Since 2015
Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson is on pace for his first 1,000-yard season on the ground since 2015.
Although Adrian Peterson wasn’t signed by the Washington Redskins until a few weeks before their regular season opener, the veteran running back is on pace for his best season in quite some time. As they head into their Week 10 game against Tampa Bay, AP has over 600 yards on the ground. If he keeps up the same pace as he did in Washington’s first eight games, he’ll go over 1,200 yards for the year. Below, you can see the same projections from ESPN’s website.
The last time AP had a season where he gained over 1,000 yards was back in 2015 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2016, he played his final season with Minnesota but appeared in only three games. The following year, he had a forgettable four-game stint with New Orleans before picking up with the Arizona Cardinals. Although he had some monster games with the Cardinals, he was hurt towards the end of the year and finished 2016 with 529 rushing yards in 10 combined games.
If Peterson goes over 1,000 yards in 2018, it will be his eighth season hitting the mark since he entered the NFL in 2007.
Washington is three-point underdogs this week in their game against Tampa Bay. Peterson, however, is questionable with a shoulder injury, according to RotoWire via ESPN. The Redskins, now 5-3, are in first place among NFC East teams.
