Barstool Sports Podcast Host Rone Released “Steak”, His Third Rap Album

Adam “Rone” Ferrone of Barstool Sports and rap battle fame has released his most acclaimed album to date, titled Steak.

That felt like a weird sentence to write, but it is just another eccentricity (in a long line of them) that has separated Barstool Sports from its competitors.

Dave Portnoy has signed some gems in his day, from Uncle Chaps to PFTCommenter to Zah to Francis and Donnie, but Rone may be the most talented of them all.

Rone reemphasized that on Wednesday with this:

For his 30th birthday, he released an EP. And while it’s not his first, it’s been blowing up at a pretty unreal pace.

It should be noted that I’m not really a rap (or music post-2010) guy, but his stuff is pretty damn good.

“Fondue,” in particular, is a pretty ill jam.

Rone has had one of the more interesting paths of all the Barstool employees on his way to the blogosphere (he actually wrote about it here).

He traveled the world as a battle rapper and actually became the best in the world by some metrics.

Here’s some of his highlights:

He’s so far and away better than everyone else in those videos that it’s sort of wild.

Dave Portnoy realized he had something special far after everyone else did (Rone did make up for it by cursing him), but he’s given him a platform to do some incredibly interesting things musically.

It all began with his Santa Diss.

Then Rone got together with some coworkers and created the emo band Pup Punk, which currently has two singles.

His musical talent has been unquestioned, but that doesn’t always translate into success.

Fortunately, it seems to be translating for Rone.

He’s on the charts with Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and J. Cole.

For someone with rap aspirations, does it get any better?
