Sean Casey Laced A Liner Off Billy Ripken’s Face On MLB Tonight
Let’s start out by appreciating the dopeness of the indoor baseball diamond MLB Network has. In a perfect world, I’d be writing this post from a lawn chair on my very own…but that’s not happening anytime soon. Anyhow, for as awesome as the field is, it’s been known to be dangerous from time to time — especially when you have former big leaguers hitting against media personalities.

On Monday, there was another ‘workplace accident’ on MLB Tonight when Sean Casey laced a line drive off Billy Ripken’s face during a segment.

Sean Casey, always known as one of the nicest guys in baseball, was laughing his ass off but made sure to ask ‘Rip’ if he was alright. Ripken, like a true OG, was literally unfazed by the liner and didn’t break away from the demonstration. This could be why the show has won six Sports Emmys (Outstanding Studio Show – Daily) in the last eight years. It should be noted that they’re the reigning champs in the category.
Later on, Casey tweeted out that he’d be buying dinner for his co-worker.
I’m buying dinner for Rip tonight!! Haha https://t.co/Y2XaQoyr3Y

Lauren Shehadi — the victim of Casey’s other accident — also weighed in on the situation via Twitter.
At least he didn’t carry Bill over his shoulders caveman style afterwards to apologize. Career 302 hitter but not to be trusted with wiffle balls. #settleoutofcourt

Casey last played in the MLB in 2008 with Boston while Ripken last suited up in 1998 for Detroit.
