Terps Football Lands WR Transfer Sean Savoy From Va Tech
On Tuesday, the Terps football program snagged a nice piece for their future with the addition of former Virginia Tech star wide receiver Sean Savoy, according to Inside MD Sports.
Savoy, who is already enrolled in classes for the spring semester, will likely have to sit out a year but when he’s available to play, he’s definitely going to contribute. That said, Inside MD Sports noted that Savoy “has a good chance at obtaining a hardship waiver to play in 2019.”
In two seasons at Tech, the D.C. native put up solid numbers; he totaled 57 receptions in two seasons along with six touchdowns.
His freshman year, it should be noted, was far better than his sophomore year. As a freshman with the Hokies, he notched 39 receptions for 454 yards and four touchdowns, also adding two scores on the ground. Last year, he caught 18 balls for 188 yards and two touchdowns.

Maryland also added a solid transfer on the other side of the ball in linebacker Keandre Jones, an Olney, MD native who is coming over from Ohio State’s football program.
