Trader Jack McKeon Joins Washington Nationals Staff

Jack McKeon, known as “Trader Jack” in baseball circles, is now officially employed by the Washington Nationals. Mckeon, now 88 years of age, will be a senior advisor for the team, joining his son, Kasey, the Nationals’ director of player procurement.

McKeon amassed over 1,000 wins as a manager in Major League Baseball, famously winning the World Series with the Florida Marlins in 2003.

Most recently, McKeon took over for Edwin Rodriguez in 2011 as the manager of the Marlins after Rodriguez resigned in the middle of the season.

McKeon managed five franchises in his career, winning National League Manager of the Year twice.

Back in his younger days, McKeon played and managed in the Washington Senators organization.
