Kyle Guy Has 9 Points in Kings Preseason Debut

The last six months or so have been a whirlwind for former UVA star Kyle Guy. First, he led his Cavaliers’ team to a national title — hitting three of the biggest free throws in college basketball history in the process — then, he got married and drafted into the NBA not long after. On Saturday, he checked off another major bucket list item, playing in his first NBA preseason game.

His new team, the Sacramento Kings, started their preseason on Friday as part of the NBA India Games against Indiana, but Guy didn’t get on the court. In their second game, however, he saw 20 minutes of action, scoring nine points (2-7 FG, 4-5 FT). Guy, the No. 55 pick overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, made one of his five three-point attempts.

You can see his first-ever NBA preseason bucket below.

Both games were played at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai. Per NBA.com, the games marked the first time teams from a North American sports league played in India.
