UVA Basketball Snagged First Place Votes in Latest AP Poll

The UVA basketball team was among four college basketball teams to receive first-place votes in the latest AP Top-25 Poll.

Through two games, the Virginia basketball program has gone undefeated with convincing wins over two local teams — Towson (73-42) and George Washington (76-57). With that, the folks voting on the latest AP Top-25 Poll gave the Hoos two first-place votes, making them one of four programs to do so. The others, it should be noted, are Duke, Kansas, and Tennessee.

Despite the first-place votes, UVA basketball sits at No. 4 in the rankings. While it’s not first place, it is a spot ahead of where they were when they started the season.
