Washington Wizards Have Their First Winning Streak of 2018-19

By beating the Orlando Magic 117-109, the Washington Wizards have their first winning streak of the 2018-19 NBA season.

It’s been a tough road so far for the Washington Wizards but they’ve finally put together consecutive strong performances. First, they beat the Miami Heat on the road Saturday night, then followed it with a big win against the Orlando Magic in Washington, D.C. on Monday evening. It was the first time all year that they’ve won back-to-back games, putting them at 4-9 for the season. Now, they have a great chance to make it three in a row as they host the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers in their next game.

Against Orlando, the Wizards were helped out tremendously by their bench. In fact, all five of their reserves were positive in the plus/minus category, led by Jeff Green‘s plus-13. Besides Green, Austin Rivers (plus-12) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (plus-12) both had double-digit differentials. On the other hand, all five starters were negative.

With that said, the starting unit did produce the bulk of Washington’s points. John Wall and Bradley Beal both had 20-plus points against the Magic, with Dwight Howard and Markieff Morris adding 17 and 16 points, respectively. Wall also had 10 assists in the game. Check out his highlights from the game below:

While back-to-back wins isn’t necessarily a winning streak, it is nice to see. They’ll host Cleveland on Wednesday night in hopes of snagging their first legit winning streak.
