Birdwood Golf Course Honored by Golf Inc. Magazine

Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville was honored by Golf Inc. Magazine on Tuesday, taking home 2nd place in the 2021 Development of the Year category.

The course, which resides at Boar’s Head Resort and is home to Virginia’s men’s and women’s golf teams, was renovated with a new six-hole par-3 course and main-course redesign. A new tennis stadium — home to Virginia’s tennis team — was also put in where the third hole used to be.

“The vision for the project improved the entire development by better utilizing the land and amenities, all while significantly improving the golf course and adding family friendly play.” – Judge Mike Nuzzo

Per Golf Inc., the golf revenues are up 79 percent over budget projections.

The new par-3 course is only $15 for members and it’s a sweet little course. All greens fees can be found here.

Dumbarnie Links in Scotland took first place in the category.
