UVA Baseball Firmly in Final NCAA Tournament Projections
With the college baseball tournament selection show set for Monday, May 31, Baseball America and D1Baseball released their final projections for the field of 64. The same five Virginia programs made the cut in both releases; VCU (A-10) and Norfolk State (MEAC) won their conference’s automatic bids, while Liberty, Old Dominion, and Virginia got at-large bids.
Virginia was on the bubble not too long ago, but their strong finish to the season and solid showing in the ACC Tournament put them over the top. They have won seven of their last nine games, including wins over Virginia Tech and Notre Dame in the conference tournament. The Hoos were placed in the Fort Worth region as a No. 2 seed by D1Baseball and in the Columbia region as a No. 3 seed by Baseball America. Here’s how they have each region shaking out.

- #1 Old Dominion
- #2 South Carolina (host)

Fort Worth region (D1Baseball)
