WATCH: CC Sabathia K’s Former Teammate For 3000th Strikeout
CC Sabathia became the 17th player in Major League Baseball history to strike out 3000 batters on Tuesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. And in an ironic twist, the batter he struck out was a guy who caught a bunch of his strikeouts when they were teammates with the Yankees, D-Backs catcher John Ryan Murphy.

He joins 17 other major league pitchers whom all have 3,000 or more career strikeouts.

According to the NY Daily News, he’s also just the third lefty to reach the milestone.
Murphy and Sabathia played together from 2013-15.
So far this season, the Yankees have won in all three of CC’s outings.
