WATCH: DJ Stewart Hits 6th Homer in as Many Games
DJ Stewart is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, maybe the hottest. It’s crazy to say but it’s true. Stewart went yard in the first inning of the O’s-Yanks game (second game of doubleheader) to give him six homers in as many games. The homer on Friday came off Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka and landed 415 feet from home plate. A lot of homers at Yankee Stadium are cheap; Stewart’s was not. Stewart also took Tanaka deep a few days ago on September 6th.

Stewart’s hot streak came out of nowhere. He started the year with the big club but was demoted quickly after an 0-for-14 start in six games. When he came back up on September 4th for a double-dip against the Yanks, he immediately turned things around by reaching base four times (three walks, one HBP) in six plate appearances. The following night, he homered for his first hit of the season off Gerrit Cole and has been tearing it up ever since.
