WATCH: Nats Hit Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back Home Runs

Prior to Sunday, no team in the history of Major League Baseball had ever hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs on multiple occasions. Then, in the top of the eighth inning of their game against the San Diego Padres, the Washington Nationals broke a 1-1 tied with four consecutive home runs, their second time doing so in franchise history.

Though it’s a small pocket, the Nats now stand alone in the record books.

Howie Kendrick was the first to go yard, a 421-foot solo shot to put the Nats up 2-1, then Trea Turner (425 foot), Adam Eaton (402 foot), and Anthony Rendon (391 foot) all did the same to give Washington a 5-1 lead.

San Diego scored a run in the bottom of the ninth but Washington prevailed 5-2 to give them 11 wins in their last 15 games. Once thought to be sellers at the deadline, the Nats have climbed back into contention and have all sorts of good mojo going for them.

The other back-to-back-to-back-to-back game came on July 27th, 2017 when Brian Goodwin, Wilmer Difo, Bryce Harper, and Ryan Zimmerman all went yard consecutively against Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Michael Blazek.

Washington (30-35) is now seven games back of first-place Philadelphia in the NL East and six games back of the final NL Wild Card spot.
