Watch the New Borat Trailer; Set For October 23rd Release

The first Borat film was genius, raking in $262+ million at the box office — on an $18 million budget — and earning an Academy Award nomination. Sacha Baren Cohen, the man behind the grey suit, is back again with the character and Amazon is alongside him. A three-minute trailer for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm or Borat 2 was released today, showing Borat coming back to the United States and turning his hijinks toward the current administration.

Toward the end of the trailer, you can see Vice President Mike Pence was one of Cohen’s targets. He’s been duping politicians and celebrities for years with his various characters and, oftentimes, there’s some blowback. A prank from his last notable project, Who is America?, on Showtime resulted in the resignation of a Republican politician and the timing of the October 23rd release is definitely strategic: it’s right in time for the 2020 Election.

Cohen filmed Borat 2 in (mostly) secret over the summer.

Here’s the Borat 2 teaser trailer and movie poster as well because I want you to have as much Borat as you can handle.

Some viral marketing for the film has also taken place by way of the Republic of Kazakhstan Twitter account.

The full name of Borat 2 is Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Prime Video will have the film available to stream on October 23rd release in over 200 countries.
