Asher Roth Calls on Lil Yachty, Buddy & More For New Album

Asher Roth had planned on beginning his album rollout on March 25th, but I guess he couldn’t wait. Roth started a day early with the rollout, releasing the tracklist for the unnamed album on social media.

Notable guests on the project include Lil Yachty, who’s name-dropped Asher several times in songs already (ie: “Cat Piss”), Buddy, CJ Smith of Besphrenz, lojii, Joyce Wrice, and Gaby Duran. Roth has previously worked with both Buddy (ie: “Rap Hands”) and CJ Smith (ie: “Undertow”).

When the initial rollout was announced, Roth told Slackie Brown the “album is the most genuine reflection of myself thus far.”

“Mommydog” is the first single off the album, dropping last year with a full music video treatment (above). The project will be his third solo album, following his Gold-certified debut album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, and 2014’s Retrohash.

Since the original plan was for a March 25th rollout, I’d like to think the album will have an official name by tomorrow…maybe some cover art. A new song would be real dope but Ash is def slow-playing things.
