D-Rose After Game Winner: “I’m Born to Do This Shit”

Derrick Rose is an NBA legend, and he added another highlight to his resume on Monday night with a game-winner against the New Orleans Pelicans. Now in his first season with Detroit, D-Rose had the ball in his hands with the game on the line and delivered a nifty fadeaway at the buzzer to break a 103-103 tie and secure a victory for the Pistons.

After the game, Rose spoke honestly with a Fox Sports reporter, saying what we all already knew: “I’m born to do this shit.”

The spinning, game-winning bucket gave Rose a team-high 21 points, 17 of which came in the fourth quarter alone. He shot 9-of-17 from the field and also added seven assists to his breathtaking performance. Rose played 28 minutes off the bench on Monday night.

Rose has seen his career come back to life after a tough 2017-18 season which saw him play for two teams (Cleveland and Minnesota) and average a career-low 8.4 points per game. Last year, he put up 18 points per game for the Timberwolves, earning him two-year, $15 million deal with Detroit. So far, he’s averaging 16.1 points per game for the Pistons in less than 24 minutes per game.
