Two Classic James Madison Football Games to Re-Air on CAA YouTube

There are few FCS football programs with as much clout as James Madison. The Dukes have been in the FCS National Championship Game three times since 2016 and made the playoffs each year since 2014. In 2016, they took home the FCS National Championship, their second since 2000. Last year, in Curt Cignetti’s first season at the helm, the Dukes lost in the national title game to North Dakota State.

Tons of talent remains at JMU from last year’s team but, with the current pandemic situation, the college football season is sort of up in the air. While it’s a small consolation, James Madison football fans can get a little bit of a fix later this month via the CAA YouTube channel.

Per the conference’s website, the channel will be broadcasting nine classic games in April, two of which are Dukes football games.

The first Dukes game to re-air — #5 Villanova vs. #2 James Madison — was a heavyweight battle between two Top 5 teams at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg. Over 25,000 people showed up to watch the matchup, the biggest crowd JMU played in front of all last year (inc. the national championship game). The second game was from two years ago, featuring James Madison (again ranked #2 in the country) against CAA rival Elon, the 10th-ranked team in FCS in Harrisonburg. I won’t reveal the results but if you’re a JMU football fan you probably already know.

If things go well, I imagine the CAA will continue showing classic games on their channel. Check out the other classic CAA games re-airing in April below.
